Had a short but fun drive in this!
Batteries removed, civic si k20 and a nice 6spd gearbox.
It was totally a 21st century crx successor... Its sad why Honda didnt go this way.

I would like to have an approximation of the time and money it took to build this beautiful Honda that should’ve been. It’s 2nd on my plausible car projects list behind swapping a GM LFX V6 into my Miata.

Isn’t there a company that makes kits for doing this swap as well as swaps into the first-gen Honda Insight?

That thing is what the CRZ should’ve been.
PS: why are all the cars across the street missing rear bumpers?
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

This car was built by my mechanic. He bought a salvage (but good condition and functioning) CRZ on Copart, ditched batteries, gearbox, engine and A/C.
Cost was around 8k to 10k + car, but that is counting the import of the car and parts are more expensive this side of the world (Panama, Central America).
This is what he used:
K20Z3 engine
K20Z3 ECU + Hondata FlashPro or EcuTek
Engine Mounts
Custom Header (oem or some aftermarket headers wont work because theyll touch the radiator/fans)
Custom Harness
Civic Si Transmission
Civic Si CV Joints.
Id say if you find parts for good price you could have this car for around 15k all said and done.
My Opinion? Totally worth it, you wont get that much fun at that price range, car is tossable AF, Pulls really nice, its great on gas and its comfy for two people.
Also, good looks! and its compact for city driving Plus honda reliability*

Yes, I believe its LHT Performance, they deliver a Turn key experience but since we are not in the US there was only one way to do it LOL

Totally. This is what a CRX successor should AND could have been.
It pulls great, good on gas, comfy and civilized and its really tossable.
Car did 14 seconds flat on street tires on the strip too! and that was on a prepped bur dirty track.
Also, this is my mechanic workshop and he has one side of the shop for body repair and those are cars that they were moving in and out of the shop lol... though the area is somewhat ghetto lol

Yeah that would be great if you could take more photos. I see the details you posted on the project in the comments. But if you don’t mind could you ask the mechanic if he wants his name and/or company included in the article.
